I tried my hand at canning for the first time alone. I made lots of apple butter and pear-apple butter. It is all so yummy! And the jars all sealed properly, it is so fun to listen to the lids all “popping.” However it does bring up a question, why is it called canning when we use jars?

Hahaha, Rick! Marcia, that looks and sounds sooo yummy! I would like to try “jarring” someday…yeah, “canning” is better…jarring just sounds so…jarring. And now I’m saying a bunch in my head and it’s becoming one of those words that sounds really, really weird to me. Thanks 😛
