Happiness Is Homemade

Today is the day we put Rick and Ginny’s wedding announcements together. They are cute. She is glad though that we only get married one time! Too much work. For one day, perhaps I am projecting my latent Wedding preparation stress onto her. If she is lucky that is all there is to it. I don’t know, Ginny, is it stressful?

Also, I made the tart things again, I think they are good, but I will never loose weight if I keep making yummy foods. Ronda made cookies and Gavyn made brownies. We discovered that G2 and G3 are allergic to peanut butter cookies. A bit of Benedryl and the hives and rash go away. At least Gavyn can still have peanut butter.

Pictures coming if I get some from Ronda, I forgot my camera.

How Shocking

Tonight we had the missionaries over for dinner and we invited our friend John over who we haven’t seen in over a year. It was nice to have him over and visit.

Jacob made fettuccine from scratch and Alfredo sauce too. I made white chocolate mousse tarts with strawberries for dessert. (The same kind from New Years, only a different shell) Sadly enough, no pictures, again.

After we ate, the missionaries shared a message and left. We then went and picked up Emily and the four of us went bowling. It was a lot of fun, even if that alley hates me! we got ice cream and went back to out house and played life. I believe I won (notice I didn’t mention my score in bowling-again, that alley hates me).

However the best part of the evening had to be John’s zapper thing. Which he used many times to shock Emily.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Today we drove to St Louis to take Erin back to the airport.  We will miss her and hope she has a great semester.  After we dropped her off we went to find the Panera Bread Company and The Viking Store that we found on our honeymoon.  So we took Karen to see the cool store and while there found The Container Store, the ultimate OCD enabler.  And amazingly enough the weather was pretty good.

Also, yesterday our friend Evan did a photo shoot for us (Jacob’s family).

Party All Night Till The Sun Comes Up

The year is finally at its end!  We celebrated by going to our friends’ party where we played vintage games like Atari.  And newer games like guitar hero.  We played with cards too.  We popped poppers.  Jacob mad crab tarts, and I made white chocolate mousse with strawberry tarts.  They were delicious.  I can’t believe I didn’t get any pictures from this event**.

**Even more surprising, no pictures of the tarts.

Time To Make The Donuts

Today I babysat Aiden while I was trying to paint, I am not sure if this was a fun day since she has been testing her limits trying to see what she can be boss over.  She asked me if I would put some mayonnaise on her oatmeal.  I told her I would not do that, and she said that she likes it that way. I told her that was too bad I would not put it on her oatmeal, and came to realize she was asking for marshmallow cream, not mayonnaise.

We made homemade donuts for our Semi-annual Saturday Ward Choir practice and breakfast, tomorrow.  The first happens right before Easter.  It will be a good program.  The donuts are a family recipe that we used to make when I was younger.  I believe it was my Grandma Bellamy’s.  They are yummy.

What Did I Say

Tonight we net over to Hal and Corey’s house for some entertainment.  We like food network.  A lady from Macomb that I met a month or two ago was on Throwdown with Bobby Flay. So we had to watch it.  It was Ginger Bread Houses, and they look awesome.  We brought a key lime pie, it is Corey’s favorite.  And we like it too.

New Ghouse

I went to Galesburg today to see Ronda, G-kids and the house they are buying. I took lots of pictures of the house for them. I really like the house! I wouldn’t mind having one of my own. I love older houses. Ronda and mom helped me make some rice crispy treat balls for the party tomorrow for the preschool, so I can make a better attempt at the snowman hats, with a rice crispy ball for a snowman head.

Croquembouche

My friend Ally is getting baptized on Sunday.  She had her interview in Carthage today, so I took her up so she would have company/support.  We did the tour of the Carthage Jail.  I know it surrounds a sad event, but there is such a spirit there.  It was a good trip. I am grateful we only live half an hour away from there and an hour from Nauvoo.

When I got home we decided to make rice crispy treats and cover them with the chocolate I already had melted.  We piled them up into a Christmas tree and gave it a French name to seem cool**.  It was fun.  Mom, Rick, Ginny, Skyler, Ronda, Gavyn, Geneva, and Gretchyn were all there too.  There was a “talent” program as the main event.***
