The idea of signage dates back to the early Greeks, when a baker posted please don’t steal my buns. However, today we use signs for more useful things such as “Don’t feed the Bears!” and “Piso Mojado!” We also use signs for important things, like Stop and Yield. The stop sign started out as a joke, somebody put it up thinking that it would be funny, and suddenly they started popping up everywhere, the Yield sign however serves a more important purpose, it indicates to our alien overlords where to land their space crafts.
P.S. The white boarder around the Stop sign indicates that it is optional.
